Default The next trio has arrived!

Earlier today I happily hobbled to pick up the next package and enjoyed the spring sun at the same time.

This is the second package but from a different member of the Swedish orchid forum. In the package there were two equestris; one rosea and one aurea, and one Phal schilleriana. The Phal equestris rosea has four reddish leaves and the entire foliage is a bit on the floppy side (due to the cold I think), also the tip of the spike is dead but it still has two flowers blooming. I believe it will pull through though since the roots look very fine and it seems as though there are more roots on the way. I hope I'll be able to help it recover.

The Phal equestris aurea was a bit of surprise due to its impressive size and the fact that it has a tiny sprout on the side (not a keiki since it isn't spiking). The seller never mentioned this so it was a very happy surprise indeed.

The Phal schilleriana looks very healthy with wonderful roots and beautiful foliage. It needs to be potted though which I plan to do later today when I re-pot four of my other Phals.

I'm very satisfied with all six plants and look forward to the last three from Schwerter.

Talking Forgot to show a closeup on the P. equestris rosea.

I'm in love with its super cute flowers! There's unfortunately only three of them but on the other hand, they are adorable. I'm staring so much at it, it will probably wilt out of embarrassment.

If I manage to take care of it properly and it produces a keiki or two, one will have your name written on it (if you want this colour on your rosea, it seems to vary a lot).

Thanks, but I may end up getting it well before! I'm going to a show in March, visiting a local grower soon (who also has the largest personal orchid collection in Europe) and also planning to order from Schwerter and a dutch grower. As you can tell, I haven't bought any orchids this winter, so will go on a spring buying frenzy!

Nah, I couldn't tell at all. It wasn't obvious or anything.

I'll look forward to your spamming the forum with pictures of your new babies.

p.s. I'm still debating whether or not I should order that Dtps. Purple Gem 'blue'. So far I haven't decided yet. d.s.
