But some of the ones available from Krull smith ($100 for BS) and Orchids limited ($150, for BS) have seen some really nice flowers out of them. If you know what you're doing in terms of culture, it's not much of a risk, with quicker blooming.

I contemplated those, too. I don't know what drove me to this pot. What does BS stand for? I have a guess but surely it isn't orchid related!

Well speaking of this pot, it just arrived!

I didn't want the babies to travel alone so a hieroglyphic var flava escorted them here.

They're both sooooo small. Both went right into a glass box, that sits upon a heating mat with water in the bottom with hydroton. Then I placed egg crate on top so no one sits in water and then a small fan keeping up air movement. Waiting to see how warm it gets inside. Looking for warmth for sure!

Well, I lost a few of these seedlings, but those that remain are doing ok... No better, no worse. I made a big mistake on watering, unfortunately. But now I know better, and I'm misting it instead of actually watering. The moss deep in the pot never gets crunchy dry but is moist, but not so that it's obviously moist to the touch, if that makes sense. Think of it as nearly dry but never completely dry.

The heiro is doing well... It's shot out new roots into sh and has even tossed out a new leaf. Both are still in their glass box, enjoying plenty of air movement, humidity and light. I wish I could get it warmer.

I have my seedling in medium bark in a 2" clay pot. I soak it every 1-2 days as it dries out. It's been growing a new leaf at a pretty good pace, and I think there's some root growth under the surface as well.

I got one from Ten Shin this spring. It's a beautiful, healthy plant...leaves span 10 or so inches accross (both leaves) so I'm probably a good couple of years away....for this I can be patient!
