Beautiful bloom! It should be fragrant too, right?
I am keeping my fingers crossed that after three blasted buds, the current bud on mine will survive...

Great markings on a strong yellow background. Awesome bloom. Mind if we see the whole plant? Also how big is it, and where did you get yours at?

Many Thanks
I have not detected any sent, it'll likey take a few days. Mine were also blasting then I found white mites along the stems and got rid of them.
Theres' 3 spikes active, all the spikes have buds, but this is the first blossoms to open.
I'll take a shot of the whole plant later on tonite.
This orchid came from Patrick - kingsfisher orchid.

Gloria, are the white mites - mealybugs?
Mine came from Kingfishers too.
Buds were blasting very small on three different spikes, this one already passed that stage and grown bigger, so I have some hope. I moved plant to the kitchen where it is more humid, but less light, it sits on humidity tray now.
Hope my bloom will be as beautiful as yours (if it will survive of course)...

Orchideya, no these are not the same as mealies, much smaller. These mites look white or glassy like colour, hard to see. I used a magnifying glass since I couldn't see them with the naked eye. I knew there was something wrong .... so I had a closer look and found mites. Nothing was on any of the leaves just the stems.
I'm sure you're blooms will be pretty aswell
I'm beginning to think this is a reichenbachiana and not a fasciata

Here is one of the best examples of the primary difference between the two. It's all in the lips. Yours is most likely a fasciata.
Here, reichenbachiana is on left, and fasciata on right
