Phal lueddemanniana goes spike happy Male
Default Phal lueddemanniana goes spike happy

I bought this one in July with a single stalled spike. The grower mentioned it had been there for about a month and hadn't moved, so he decided to sell it... Did I luck out or what. This morning, I go to check on them, and I find that not only is the current spike growing but THREE, that's right 3, more have started. I'm actually a bit worried something is wrong, so it's throwing flowers at such an odd time, but I'll hope that it's just really happy. Hopefully I'll have some blooms to share in a couple months.

Don't worry, it looks perfectly happy!
Might be a case of memory loss, though

Wow! That's awesome! I'm showing your pictures to mine. Maybe it will get the hint. It has 1 spike that stalled but looks like maybe it's thinking about doing something.

Congrats on the spikes!!

It may not be such an odd time for it to bloom, I also got a Phal lueddemanniana this summer (also with a stalled spike), and this weekend I found at least one new spike starting to grow.

Just wanted to update this thread. Spikes have led way to buds, though still have some time before they open.
Largest spike has 2 large buds, and one just starting, next one has 2 developing buds. Lowest spike is trying to bud into the moss. It's only about 0.5" long.
I'm still waiting for them to open though...
