Strange Phal tetraspis
Saw this Phal tetraspis alba at my Society Show last weekend. The lateral sepals are fused into one, have never seen anything quite like it.

Weird indeed, but that is FANTASTIC! I want it! Now this is an interesting mutation/flower deformation, way better than pelorism indeed.

An AOS judge thought it was nice enough that she bought it right out of the display and paid $250.00 for it. I can't imagine anyone using it in a breeding program and for me, as an oddity, it is not worth $250.00, but that's just me..

It's quite cool! Looks cool to me, but I don't think I would have paid that much for it either.

Sweet! Reminds me of a pelican with its beak open. While I like it, I agree I wouldn't have paid that kind of money for it. Course may be the buyer plans to have it mericloned and expects to make money selling the clones.

Hum... I wonder if this was the first year it bloomed like this.
I like it. But I don't think I would have paid quite that much for it.

Too funny!!
Paul - If she does, and I was in the AOS Judging program, I would push for her dismissal from the program, it's bad enough that there is all this breeding going on with peloric mutations. Where do we draw the line?
