Phalaenopsis Hieroglyphica (Egyptian Lore x self)
A few of you may remember my purchase from Hausermann's about 5 months ago. Well it's spike finally decided to fully bloom out (Only took 3+ months from spike to bloom...). So, here it is. Still a little more cupped than I'd like, but the dark spots over the creamy white looks great. There's also a slight hint of green at the end of each sepal which is great!

Very nice. A favourite species of mine to look at. Give it a few days, maybe it will open up some more.

Beautiful! I have a phal thats supposed to be leuddemaniana, but after seeing this picture, I wonder if its mislabeled, and actually hieroglyphica.

Jared is this a first bloom seedling? If so it may improve with age. Overall I think it's nice. Has great color and the markings are nice and crisp. Nice job!

Thanks all for the comments. Terri to your question, this is the second blooming for this one. I'm also hoping the buds coming next will open more since they seem to be holding some of the flowers from opening fully, due to blocking them in the center. I'll keep you posted once the grouping finally opens.

Updated Photo
Well I had hoped for a real dynamite showing from this one, on this recent blooming. It's a really nice clone, with touches of green on each sepal, really strong markings, and nice form (for a hiero at least). Sadly, I sprayed Physan as a general preventative all over the growspace, thinking I was doing them a favor, and all the buds/blooms developed this aweful black rot. I dont yet know what caused it, but to everyone out there, careful with the Physan spray on buds. That said, one bud made out pretty well, but the other 13 or so look like the second pic... Grrrr.
