This is a mericlone I got from Parkside Orchids about one year ago.
It was in double spike when I got it and one of the spikes shriveled brown and the other dropped its lead bud and stopped growing.
Then the roots began looking bad so I took it out of the bark mix and potted it up in NZSphag in May when I also moved into the greenhouse.
A new spike has grown and low and behold the remaining old spike is now "alive" again
The first pic is from about two weeks ago and the second pic is from today!

I hope these buds open!

Here's hoping!

It doesn't look like a blaster to me. In fact, it looks like it'll open soon. Its' an alba buds should be light in colour before the opening.

NOOOO!!

It WAS a blast
The key was the pale stalk. I have not the faintest idea why the bud fell off other than there was a bit more light the past couple of days after the 10 days or so of rain when the bud swelled and grew.
Humidity has been 70% and temp ranging from mid 80's to mid 70's unchanged.

I left the bud there attached and shriveling until I found it lying in the media below
Now the second bud below is progressing and hope for me it does not have the same fate

OHHH NoO!!!! i hate it when that happens!!!! my Its so hard to tell with white/white-ish flowers! they are supposed to get lighter in color and when it first starts it just looks like its becoming white and then the next few hours or day its yellow and wrinkled!

That sucks!!!!!!

Mine just opened a flower, and it stayed the same shade of green on the outside, and gave no warning. I didnt think it would be ready for another couple weeks!
