Question on what to post where... Species Crosses
Just wondering if I should post pics/questions/comments on phal species crosses (like Phal Samera (violacea x bellina)). Would it be more appropriate here or under the hybrids section? Sorry on a bit of a species and primary crosses right now, and want to post away. Thanks all.

what you call "species crosses" are commonly referred to as primary hybrids. they should be posted under the hybrids section.

That's what I figured, but wanted to be sure.

Under hybrids.
If its a cross where both parents are the same species then it would be in this subforum.

A confusing thing is that the title of the sub-section for Species is "Including Doritis, Phalaenopsis and their Hybrids"
My original understanding was that Primary Hybrids could be included under species. The reason being that those interested in species will often stretch to Primary Hybrids as well but not more complex hybrids.
But that's from my memory of whenever it was that the Phal section was split and I could be mis-remembering.

You might be right Rosie, but I don't recall that. I think its simpler to just put all hybrids, primary, secondary etc... under hybrids and species under species.
I've already spoken to Sue about changing some subforum descriptions but she seems to be overwhelmed at the moment. Maybe we can try Oscarman?

Well there's no rush on this. I can post in hybrids, as it does make some sense. I'll post where it is currently appropriate, and you all can change the forum if and when you can. Thanks for the responses though!

I agree that it seems far simpler and easier to understand that way.
