I did repot it into a clay pot. like PYSC said there was not one bad root! and it is making three new roots i saw! here is the thing i used the LECA and i watered it yesterday and today its pretty much dry. Is that bad? Is that gonna be too dry? and am i looking at watering it every other day? should I unpot and put into plastic? or add some moss?

Is any of the LECA still wet? I'm surprised it dried out entirely in a single day unless you got a lot of heat and evaporative cooling going on. But if that's the case, yes you'll have to water more often. Or you could possibly switch it to S/h by creating a reservoir of some sort.

It was really windy today and last night could that have done it? it some of the LECA is darker than the rest but it doesn't feel wet.

About the reservoir i have a dish that holds about an inch or 1/2 inch of water will that work?

A little tray of sorts would work if you wanted, but as long as the LECA is a bit dark you should be ok. You could always shoot the grower an email and ask what they do. I'd start there

I find that when I first repot something into leca, the pellets do dry out faster....only at first though. When they settle together better, it helps hold some water between the pellets, as well as wicking water into the pellets. They may feel dry to you, but I believe that the pellets wick water in there which is released to the plant.

At first you might try to water every day to every other day, but as the pellets settle you will most likely notice that they seem to be holding water better, and will appear wet longer. I know that's how it works for me....and I water every 3-4 days.

I really enjoyed having one of these. Just wait till you smell the flowers. One of my favorite orchid scents.
