Why? Primary hybrids are great. Perhaps there should be laws on vendors purposely mislabeling plants, but this one is pretty adorable and a nice example of a primary hybrid. Good growing.

Can't really add much on the ID discussion since I agree that it's probably Lovely Kid, but I have a Phal. lobbii (well, I think, it hasn't bloomed yet) that also has funny raised bumps on the leaves. They don't seem like disease or anything and the plant seems fairly healthy. I just assumed it was a natural feature of the species. If you want I'll try to get some pictures of them when I have time.

Holy smokes, didn't mean to cause such a ruckus! Let's cool off.

I bought this one from olympic orchids, so if it is mislabeled, I will let Ellen know. Anyways, I took a couple more pictures to post for further clarification.

I also got mine from Olympic Orchids last month! Did you receive it in spike?

No, I got it last summer not in-spike. You guys are onto something though. After looking at the pics of Phal. Lovely Kid, it looks pretty spot-on. I appreciate the mystery solving and now I must get myself a parishii.

Nothing against primary hybrids but I do have something against primary hybrids where the offspring starts to be hard to identify. Good that we have some specialists who can but how many people won't be able to get the correct name.

At least Lovely Kid is an easy hybrid to ID compared to other hybrids. I guess it all depends on what you know and how familiar you are with what you are looking at. I had actually forgotten what lobbii and parishii and lovely kid looked like compared to each other.

Me too, sometimes I have to go look up pics to remember what each one looks like, they're too similar!
