She's more purple than pink, which is why I suppose the seller called it Lavender. I don't know that the Lavender part should technically be in the title like that, but thats whats on the tag, for now.

Its one of my larger plants and it has two arching spikes with many buds about to open-- you can see they've started already. I'll update this post with proper photos of the plant in full bloom once that's achieved.

This plants bears very light weight, light substance blooms (imagine a butterfly's weightlessness and look) with a lovely tea rose scent that is most apparent in the warming hours of the morning. I suppose the plant times it with the activity of bees!

It's going to look gorgeous once all the buds are open! Love schilleriana, it's such a wonderful phal; great leaves, lots of blooms, usually fragrant. Can't think of anything better!

I've been searching high and low for this one in Europe, but despite it being such a classic when it comes to species phals, it's proving to be impossible to find a vendor that carries it. Did find a place that has seedlings, but I'd like one that a bit closer to blooming!

You really can't ask for anything more in a phal!! I agree!!

This plant threw a keiki last Spring that I removed from the plant in the Fall. Believe it or not, the keiki (now its own plant) has about a 9 inch spike. It isn't far behind the mom plant in terms of blooming.

I'd offer it to you but I'm not sure it would be worth the money spent sending it over seas.

I've just being patient and regularily checking vendors just in case they start selling them. Or else I'll get the seedling, and be very patient!
Another thing about this orchid that I read on internet a while back is that it's capable of growing keikis off its roots, usually on mounted plants. Not how cool is that!

Ryan, excellent growing! Looks lovely & can't wait to see pics with all those lovely blooms
How long have you had your plant and how long have you had it in S/H ?

I ask because I have one bought as a seedling for at least 4/5 years ? (can't remember exactly)in which time it has flowered twice (4/5 flowers & one spike) I have also very nearly 'lost' it from root rot.. twice! and last summer, started her up again by mounting her on a drift wood with spagh.

At the time it only had one big leaf, one tiny growing out the crown and a root. It spiked in December... and I finally got 4 flowers. The last flower fell off 2 days ago.
It has now been mounted for about 8 months and doing very well.

Beautiful schillie Ryan. I can't wait to see her in full bloom!

Camille didn't someone post a picture here of a schillie mounted on a tree in the Philippines that had zillions of Keikis sprouted from the roots? It was really a cool picture.

Bob, my keiki schill is still a little delicate to be shipped anywhere as it needs some more intensive care, but I am offering it up to you if you're interested. It'll have all the great characteristics of the mom plants show in this post.

I've had the plant since the Fall of 2008. It's been in s/h for at least two years now.

Thanks!

This isn't the photo you're referring to but I LOVE this photo -- the very last one on the page. Hoping this is what mine will look like in time.
