maybe next blooming for my schilly will be fragrant.
The one I wanna get it from said that it was fragrant...Does it have periods where it is fragrant one bloom then not fragrant the next bloom? And in the post before this one you said it should throw out basal keikis during the warm growing season...Is this a natural O.K. thing for it to do?

I read of other schilleriana threads mentioning that it is fragrant on one bloom then not the next bloom or the other way around.

Yes, the 3 philippines mottled leaf species (schilleriana, stuartiana, & philippinense) normally and easily throws out basal keiki and spike keiki. That's how they get huge. I know that others considers it as a stress but I think it's normal for this specie. It was once considers as a weed here since they easily grow in numbers happily producing keiki. Even stuartiana puts out a root keiki. I have several root keiki from our home province actually and I have one plant that already produced a basal keiki and a root keiki.

...That is weird. I don't see why it would have a fragrance bloom one bloom and then not a fragrance bloom the next. And thank you for the clarification! Now I know to not get worried about doing something wrong if it throws them out. I plan on getting one in the next week or so. I am so excited now. Thank you so much!!!

No problem Michael. I'll share pictures of the mottled leaf species growing mounted in woods in numbers. They really love to be in mounts. Maybe I could start a new thread for that.

Ganyaan an naalala ko noon nakatira pa ako a Pilipinas.

Mottled leaved species prefer to be mounted than potted?

Yes Michael. I easily killed a plant in a pot so I have them mounted and they were doing great. I read somewhere that they should dry out within 3 days.
