just an update, Lung center sunday market has already been relocated at the Mall parking area along Quezon Avenue corner EDSA, last November 7.

the last time i went to LC i saw a Phal pulchra being offered by the vizcayan seller, and that was 3 weeks ago. Maybe they still have a stock.

waaahhh... 3 for 100! I've got to find a way to go out on Sundays. It would cost me I think 150 if they have the pulchra in msbf. were there bunch of the pulchra in stock 3 weeks ago? I hope there's more left.

anyway, does the sunday market already open at around 3AM very early in the morning?

there's a lot of pulchra 3 weeks ago. and they are not present during the last sunday at LC (October 31, 2010) maybe because of the upcoming all saints day. never knew if they were present last sunday at their new location

Nice plant. I really like mounted phals but I've never tried it myself. The plant looks great although a little beat up. I'm sure it likes the TLC that you're giving it. I would love to see it in bloom.

Thanks Tucker85. Yes the plant has been beat up. The seller told me it came from Mindanao and from it's natural habitat.

I visited yesterday's Sunday market at the Centris and was shocked to see all the parking space taken. Wow I even saw Senator Mirriam Santiago buying orchids.

Anyway, got a chance talking to the Nueva Vizcayan vendor and got his cell no. I bought the 3 phals he has yesterday. A Bastianii, philippinense, and aphrodite (in spike). Got a bulbo and another native orchid.

There are other sellers of native orchids as well one has a farm in tagaytay which is much closer to me. They have a seedling of variegated amabilis and the leaves really look great but the price is a whooping 1000 pesos for a very small seedling that might die in my care. Anyway, they told me they have heiroglyphica in their farm and other species in which I made appointment to come tomorrow to get some. Another vendor have boxes of schilleriana mother plants and an amabilis I think. They had a lone lueddemaniana mounted with several keiki's and told me that it is from quezon province and the color is yellow. It must have been a pallens. The old flower spikes are long and round unlike the lueddes I got from msbf coming from mindanao with short thick spikes and somehow kinda flatter. Price started at 300 but I got it at 150.

anyway, as an update to my luedde that is in spike after almost 6 weeks now... the spike is slowly growing and is just around 4 inches by now. it's really growing slow for some reason. The new leaf though has grown and the keiki growing slowly. The root growth is now robust and I think the plant is now happy and must have been putting it's in effort in growing the leaf. Pictures to follow soon.
