Royal -

Amazing. Love the frilly lip in the first photo. I've never seen a micholitzii before, but it's on the list now.

Are they readily available? Anyone know of a particularly good source?

Thanks for sharing.

- J

M, Yes it is, good eye.

Poison Ivy, I selfed it. Hopefully we'll have a bunch of nice micholitzii seedlings soon.

J, They are out there, pretty pricey though. I got this one from Big Leaf Orchids. Orchidveiw has had them in the past too.

I love the lip too, who wouldn't!?

Very nice Royal.

I bought one of these fairly recently, and it came with a small basal keiki even though the main crown was putting out a new leaf. The plant seems to be otherwise in good health. Do you know if this is common for this species?

Thanks, Tyler. I do not know if basal keikis are common for this species. If it's nice and healthy with a new leaf coming, I'd assume a keiki to be a good sign.

So Royal, are you going to flask the seeds from that pod yourself or send it to a lab?

I got dibs on a compot!

Beautiful micholitzii!

Pete,

I'll probably do both. I really want to make sure these make it. When the time comes, I know where to find you.
