I've been holding my breath now for 2 months, since the first nubbin of a spike appeared, for this day.
Can't believe it actually made it without my breaking it off, having it blast, or any of the other things that can happen.
Anyway, here it is, I'm sooooo proud!
Nice flower... but for me it's not a sumatrana... It looks like Ambotrana, sumatrana x amboinensis (var flavida)
I supose it could be, I can only go by the tag. I've nothing to compare it to. The blossom stem is not like an amboinensis tho.

[edit] Also wanted to add that the leaves of this plant are not like the amboinenses (I do have that one). These are light in color, quite wide and wavey, like a P. violacea. The spike also grows out and down (short stem). the ambo has "regular" spikes that grow "up" and branch.
