Maria loves it? I bet she does. That is really beautiful. And after reading how Maria is willing to pay top dollar I would think she paid a lot. But maybe she got a really great deal? LOL Congratulations it's a real beauty.

Of course, I just HAD to check out the web site...thanks a lot, Maria!

Now I spend my days contemplating a $75 Phal...maybe I should be in the Orchid Cost thread instead of here

Swamper,

Thanks. I need to stop looking at the thing. I will give it the evil eye if I don't.

You are too funny!!!

Ok, here's my bargaining technique: "OMG that's so gorgeous, how much is it?"

Insert response..........

"Ok, who do I write out the check to?"

While my sister looks on incredulously.........

Obviously, my bargaining technique needs a little work.

You can order a seedling from H. P. Norton for $35. I bought one last year and it's been a very vigorous grower. I wouldn't be surprised if it blooms next year. http://www.orchidview.com/Blue_violacea.pdf

Maria, what's the place like? Is it worth going just to photograph? (Maybe buy)
My negotiation is more like.." OMG That's gorgeous, how much is that?"
Insert response..........
" No really"
Repeats response......
" Pesos?"
Walks away.....
I take pictures

Well, right now there's a sea of orchids in bloom. I mean that literally. There are so many that after a while I got a little claustrophobic. It's just a HUGE greenhouse. I've never really seen anything like it.

Definitely nothing as artsy fartsy as RF, but then again, nothing around Homestead compares.

I will tell you that his potting medium sucks. It's more like dirt. I hate it and I repotted the plant immediately.

His plants are gorgeous though.

I would go just for the pics though. And, MAYBE you should buy some too. Giggle.
