Unknown species - Orchid Board

hey everyone..it's me again

this is the little species which i just bought few hours ago...but the boss loss the name tag of the plant...can anyone tell me what is the name of this little species? thanks^^

Hello Alvin,

I am leaning towards Phalaenopsis amboinensis var flava, but not 100%.

It sure is pretty Alvin. Might it be Phal. luddemanniana var. pallens?

Looks more like a semi-alba version of Phal tetraspis, not sure.

Ted, I think you're on the right track, but it's var flavida, not flava.

Al, Phal pallens has been considered a seperate species since 1864. please update your tags and/or notes. It's a good guess, but pallens is in section Hirsutae, which means it has a very hairy lip, unlike the one in the picture.

Philip, this is an alba, not semi-alba. it might be a tetraspis, but from the appearance of the lip, I'd say it's probably not.

hmm...thanks everyone for answer my questions...i also guess is amboinensis but dont know the exactly name...so since you all guess it is Phal. amboinensis var. flavida..then i temporary consider it as Phal. amboinensis var. flavida

and Philip, i also wondering it is a Phal. tetraspis but just like lambelkip said...the lips are different with the tetraspis..^^

In case I misunderstood your question, I do have both of the Phal. amboinensis.

hmm...in my area is hard to get the species...so means also hard to get amboinensis too...haha...but im lucky...i bought a Phal. amboinensis before...so means...now i got Phal. amboinensis and Phal. amboinensis var. flavida...did you post up the photoes of you Phal. amboinensis and Phal. amboinensis var. flavida? can i see it?
