Yeah, but I'm a pennyless college student! Send it to me, Al!

Just kidding, I seriously don't have any more space in my dorm room at the moment. Working on it though!

Personally, I think you've got a wonderful bloom there! Sure, the color could be a little darker and more saturated, but I like the faint barring near the center. And I think the shape is quite elegant and graceful, if a bit quirky (a great combo, btw. )

I think you should enjoy this one and save up for one that you know will have the coloration you were hoping for.

Al, you have to hope for the best and expect the worst. And remember, it's kind of like marriage: They say that 50% of all marriages end in divorce, which sounds like pretty bad odds. Until you realize that the other 50% end in death!

Its a very nice flower, but I know if you were looking for on of the real blues, its a disappointment. The Norton's sell theirs for $35 for near blooming size. I had one bloom this year a few weeks after I got it, so they can surprise you.

haha... Tell Royal or Dorothy you will trade this one for a violacea 'Blue Chip x self' from Orchidview

I love the Orchidview blue ones, but I've blathered that all over this board, so I won't go any further

Blather away Ben. We all love those Orchidview blues. But I didn't realize they sold any of thier violaceas as NBS plants. I thought they only sold thier blue violacea in flask.

Al, I also have one as yours, later I find another deeper one.
After many works, no matter how I grow, mine is always far behind the one.
However, gene is the most important part to show the coloration. A cat always can't grow as big as a tiger.
But you can try the stronger light, cooler temp and more "K" fertilizer. To see if the color becmone vivider.
Anyway this flower shape is so beautiful, isn't it?

The plant I got was NBS and will probably bloom next year. Go for it.
