If you tell me they are native to the Philippines, which is where I grew up, I guess they were all hiding behind dimes while I was hiking the rain forests.

From OrchidWiki: "Plants grow in lowland forest of India to SE Asia, Java, Sumatra, Borneo and the Philippines at elevations below 600 meters " so I'd have to guess the ones in the Philippines were indeed hiding behind those pesky dimes!
The plants themselves are quite small; two of my three have leaf spans under 4" tip to tip and have bloomed while the one flowering now has a leaf span of maybe 6".
