Hey, Ben. I got my little babies Saturday. Like you said, the dark, round glossy leaves are SUPER nice. I actually repotted mine in S/H Sunday which may have been rushing it, as I usually like for any new plant to get acclimated before I start messing with them, but they were in the dreaded moss (and I am really bad with the watering!).

In addition to a Bellina, Katherine sent me a Blue July 4th x Gaston Bleau and a Blue Genes x Indigo Blue. It probably won't bloom until next year - at earliest - but they were super healthy and I hope to be able to keep them that way.

Thank you, Ben, and everyone for the information, posting, pictures - and temptation!

Default Full list OrchidView

Hi Ben, Would you mind terribly sending me the complete list of phals Katherine sent to you? It appears it's more up to date then the website. The Pics would be an added bonus!
Thanks, Judi

N0230 Phal. violacea ‘Gulfstream Blue’ x self
N0385 'Rachel’s Blue Eyes’ x ‘Gulfstream Blue’
N0436 ‘Blue Genes’ x ‘Indigo Blue’
N0446 ‘Blue July 4th’ x ‘Gaston Bleu’
N0559 ‘Blue Chip’ x self
N0560 ‘Bonnie Blue’ x ‘Blue Beard’

I think pictures of several of these are on their web page. Seedlings are $35 and larger plants in spike are $100. She sent me a Word page with some info, but I didn't copy it all here. If you are intersted in a copy, email me. One of the seedlings I bought in May is already spiking. Post your pictures when yours bloom!

Fabulous flower Ben! I've been following the thread and seeing other pics makes me want to add one of the beauties to my must have list.

I'm curious how well the flowers are presented above the leaves? The flower stalks on all my violacea emerge flat out from the leaves and the flowers barely clear the leaf. Makes for darn hard photography.

BTB, how are your GWAPA tissue cultures doing?

Cheers.
Jim

I don't have trouble with the spikes coming out over the leaves. If I do, I'd start training them out to the side and up so I could spike them.

The tissue cultures all have about pooped out. When spring came, I got so busy, I haven't had time to mess with it. I've made a bunch of media and jars to do some, but haven't had time to work on it. Been looking for some Crypt parva to try.
