Your description sounds quite normal. I'm sure your plant is fine. Sometimes a plant in bud can be moved to a new home and the spike/buds seem to go dormant. It could get going again today or tomorrow, or maybe not until next month or longer. Be patient and it'll reward you!
Thanks so much. Ok. I'll just sit and wait - and watch and keep tending to them... (Patience is not my strong suit, but I guess it's a lesson I will have to learn if I want to reap the rewards.) In the meantime, I can just look at your pics and stay inspired.
hi catgirrrl John is right! Patience is the name of the game! I only have on e received with a very short spike in 2006, about 0.5 cms (June- if I am not mistaken..)anyway that original spike has not grown (it is' frozen')last year it grew a new spike and had one flower, this year it has grown a third spike which should flower in the next month.I hope last years spike will also flower.
