Phalaenopsis amabilis Male
Default Phalaenopsis amabilis

This species is a classic and the main source of the most phal hybrids. But most of the people have forgotten what it really looks like.
The flower sizes and shapes are very different among these variants.
Few of these variants has fragrance, but it is very rare.
The last one is with strong scent, very close to P. schilleriana, and smell sweeter. But this is an exception.
Most of the scent white phals I found are faint.

I always enjoy your pictures of your beautiful phals, Edward. You gave me the push to buy a Phal amboinensis when I saw your last picture of yours mounted. Now I'm just waiting till the carrier arrives heehee.
