Your thread reminds me that I should resize and post the pictures I have been taking of my orchid blooms. Maybe after the bud opens on that small Cattleya that will have its first bloom (hopefully a nice one).

Thanks!

Fingers crossed for your Cat, first bloom is always a thrilling moment!

It's a bit disappointing but to be honest, it's still a very good plant.
It is super vigorous and it seems the flowers will have a very good shape, and will be pretty flat for javanica's standards.

A word of caution for people interested in trying to cross their plants; breeding a first time bloomer is likely to go wrong and should be avoided.

Your Phals make me actually consider them!
Got any tetraspis? That's my favorite of the 'boring' Phals group (haha)

I do not at this point, but also consider one! The new breeding lines with fancy colours are awesome, especially 'coffee' varieties
They can be tricky to bloom in regular house/apartment conditions, they like it super hot and humid (25-30°C and 80% RH all year). It should be a formality in your grow tent!
