watering Miltoniopsis

Hi, I just bought a miltoniopsis and saw on an Orchid growers page that they are picky about the Ph of the water. Is this true from anyone's experience? I have well water and a Ph kit to test the acidity if necessary but I'm hoping that they are not that sensitive.

I don't know because I use tap water. I can say that in my experience these only do really well in year-round temps of 55 - 65f, at least 50% humidity and regular watering.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I also searched the web and came to the conclusion that nobody else was making a big deal about the Ph of the water...does sound a bit "O.C.D" You say 50% humidity? now that could be a problem in the winter for me. I guess I'll need an evaporation tray. I have forced hot air with a humidifier attached, but in the dead of winter my house is usually only 35% humid...I got it at an orchid sale down in Timonium MD Sunday and it is full of buds almost ready to open.

Experiment - you never know with orchids. You'll probably have to water more, they like to be kept moist.
