Help with my Zygopedilums!

I just bought two small zygopedilums, but I am really not sure what I am doing! I have mastered phals and dendros. I am not bad with my Milionias either. Can anyone give me any tips for watering, lighting, humidity levels, media etc? Are these littles guys similar to the other orchids I know how to take of?

We grow zygo's with our cymbidiums under a solid roof. They grow well in a bark based mix. The temperature in Melbourne Australia drops to close to freezing and they are not as tolerent of low temperatures as the cyms. We give them no special treatment other than normal. That is keeping the water up over summer.

I have excellent luck with zygos they have recently become my favorites to work with. My zygos bloom of of every lead they put out and my reccomendations on culture are as follows. Lots of water first and foremost. I grow most of mine actually in hydroponics and they get watered twice a day. Remember to ph correct your water by adding a small amount of organic based fertilizer every time you water. Other than that I give them a generous amount of light but it is artifical. The correct amount of light for them can be hard to attain if you solely rely on natural light since they do burn easy. Good luck.

What is the Cymb you used in your Avatar - it has very interesting colors.

The picture is of Cymbidium hookerianum otherwise known as grandiflorum. It is a large flower and a glossy sheen unlike most species. You will find more pics on my website www.users.bigpond.net.au/cymspecies
