My Laelia rubescens is spiking...
Two and half years ago I bought this cheaply as a shrivelling three back bulb division from a mature plant. It sat literally motionless on a sphagnum moss, but last year it finally begin to move and produced a tiny little growth. (I immediately mounted it on a DIY mount made of gutter guard filled with lava rocks and fiber clothes.)
But this year...it put out a fat full bulb and now is growing a long inflorescence...this is exciting for sure. Now I am looking at my L. anceps, which is sitting right next to it, which is refusing to bloom for almost four years.

Congrats on the spike!!! It must feel super rewarding to see a spike growing after having been patient for so long.

Bud progress.
I am counting total seven buds. Not bad for the first time, I think.

that's a great first result.
That long flower spike would drive me nuts. Just looking at yours I picture a giraffe with an extra long neck

Soon.
Individual buds begin to orient themselves toward the general direction of the sunlight, and color began to develop. Just few more days!
