. I know some professional spirits tasters who will tell you that, if you have a spirit with a bit of heat, as in many ryes, a few drops of natural spring water will open that drink and cut the heat. And the best of them will tell you NEVER, EVER use ice. It bruises the whisk(e)y!
That said, I like my bourbon and rye lightly sweet, and my highland single malt a bit on the dry side. Thanks for the slight hijack! Now back to your regularly scheduled discussion.
