Ok. I went from pouting to panic. I went downstairs for my ice cream and as soon as I hit the kitchen there was a knock at the door. It was one of the village postal carriers (not mine). He had accidently picked up my box from New Worlds this morning in his haste to get out the door and was dropping it off for me. I was grateful and then he says that my carrier yelled at him right before he came down because she knows when I have a package its a plant and not to leave it on the steps in extreme cold or heat and just to leave me a note and I'll come up and get it. Well lets just say that its a good thing that it was the neo's. The had been in his truck all morning and its in the lower 40's here today. They are COLD. Being they are pretty temp tolerent Im hoping they'll be fine. Its been a long week and my nerves are frazzled, don't need to add orchid drama to it. Anyways, here is my picture contribution. One of them was supposed to be Amami Island, but the tag says Amami Furan, I don't know if its a mix up or just another name for the same plant. Either way, Im happy. Its HUGE in comparison to the other one and the little one is the one I really wanted so no harm done.

What's the name of the little one? I can't believe there's such a size difference! Then again, I've never seen a Neo until now! How big are they?

Well the bigger one is at least 7-8" from the top of the moss ball to the tip of the highest leaf. I paid for a 3 growth one and this has at least that. Its quite a bit bigger than expected. While the little fella is about 3.5-4" and just has one growth with a second small one coming up. The smaller one is Neo Sho Ten Nou. The "Red Emporer" neo. Supposed to have cherry red tips on the blooms. I can't wait to see it flower!

Cowboi:
Furan is what Neofinetia is called in Japan (the traditional name at any rate...)
The Amami form is generally thought to be the larger "wild" form...

Neo et al via Oak Hill (and others...)
My plants for Oakhill (and Orchids Limited) arrived today... enclosed are pics. This is the "standard" neo--I have a couple of the named varieties...but not the type. The two that follow are a Sedirea japonica (mounted from Oakhill) & another Sedirea japonica 'Kibanasoshin' (the yellow form) from Orchids Limited...
