Welcome to Orchidboard!
I understand the entire moving around/university/budget thing, I got into growing as a freshly minted college student, and all those factors made orchid growing a very difficult hobby. My 3rd and 4th years were hell, I was doing a double degree (courses in france and netherlands), and 2 internships in that time. I was in a different place every 2-3 months. No driving license or car, so I will let you imagine what I looked like in the trains hauling all my possessions in a large suitcase, with also a hiking backpack, my laptop, and very two large bags full of orchids... It was hell. Then during my master's degree I was in one place for 2 years, and could finally develop my orchid collection a bit (within the restrictions of a student budget of course). Glad those days are behind me now!
If you can't find what you are looking for in the forums, or still have questions don't hesitate to ask for help! Depending on what you are growing you don't necessarily need an enclosed greenhouse type set up. Many people use shelves with lights on them, and for humidity loving orchids people set up nice terrarium/orchidariums.
