I can't decide whether mine smells like poop or horrible rotten death. Somewhere in between, maybe.
The flies love it, it has been fiercely guarded by them since it opened.
Wilber Chang would be similar as carunculatum smells worse than echinolabium in my opinion.
BUT ! ! ! A little stink never hurt anyone. It is produced by a flower and not an actual rotting carcass. Our bodies reject these smells because coming in close contact with rotten things can actually make us ill. But the flower's odor is just a mimic. That knowledge helps me 'stomach' it

Honestly I like to get my nose right up there and analyze the fragrance. Is it poop? Is it rotten roadkill? It doesn't put me off because, as i mentioned above, it's just a flower.
Plus I can go over to my Vanda falcata and 'clear' my nasal passages with its spicy jasmine scent if the Bulbo gets to be too much.
