I also had very good luck with this group when I grew them in Hawaii and managed to kill several denticulatums. To this day, I don't understand what I did wrong. However, this species is from the Amazon, so its dry season might be less harsh than other Catasetums. Fred Clarke will be here in August, so I'll pick his brain when I see him.

This is a tricky species, even for seasoned veterans. I'd say buy one with the expectation that it might not do well! There's only one way to find out if you can grow something!
