Yep, I second scale. From what I'm seeing the 2nd pics...those light brown scabby looking things look and awful lot like scale.

Scale usually leaves a round light colored area where they've been sucking so I'm not sure what the other areas are. Could be mechanical damage on those long-ish spots and/or scratched-looking areas. The scabs though...check those thoroughly and if it is scale...take care of it promptly because that is something that can spread quickly w/the warming spring time temps.
