Same with me - I signed up because I knew I needed help, and I can't be ashamed (well, doesn't mean I can't be mad with myself :P). But yes, that's the beauty - every orchid grower has been there, struggled and learned, so it's nice to be among people who share their experiences

It really is. I have learned so much and I still think of myself as a newbie

I know I'll always be a newbie! There are just too many orchids out there!

Yay! How did I miss this thread? I am so happy you went there. I don't think I will go there again unless my BF wants to drive. It's such a LONG drive and the traffic in and around Denver is hectic thank goodness for Island Orchid here in Springs. They don't have such a large selection but you can't beat their prices for out of bloom orchids I hope this orchid pulls thru, so far you are doing a fabulous job.

Thanks, I am trying. I have wanted this one for a long time. I'm glad I got to go there also, but I'm guessing that will be the last time. Both my others that I got there are real healthy and doing good. Did you buy any? I wish I had gotten a couple more. They had that yellow bird you want and I also wanted it and put it back.

There were more that I really wanted and I didn't know for sure how the transporting them was going to go so I didn't get more. I really liked being able to go back behind were they had the orchids they take care of for other people. I saw ones in bloom that I probably won't ever see again and it was cool.

Oh my did I buy some orchids lol. I had to make my hectic 4 hr (2 hrs to FO and 2hrs back home) round trip count! I got (Blc. Hawaiian Thrill x Marlene Lundquist) 'Hawaii', POT. Jerry Rehfeld 'Red Flare' (free one), ANGCM. sesquipedale, Gastrochilus bellinus, NOID Brassavola (possible cucullata), and Slc. Jewel Box 'Sheherazade' in bloom. It was wonderful getting all those orchids. They were in good shape. The red flare was the only one in questionable shape but it was free they are all doing great, growing lots of roots

I saw those Jewel Box ones blooming. I have an orange one and do want a red one. Can't decide which one Scherhe what ever or Dark waters.

You did well. Did you go back and see the ones they keep for other people. They may have only let us back there as my friend does allot of business with them, he's a florist. But he had never been there either so it was fun for both of us.

No I didn't see them, that place got really busy! I had a hard time pulling the girls over for a question bc they were always helping someone else or at the register. I spent a good hour and a half bc I was waiting for the girl to be free. They were extremely helpful when I finally was able to talk to them a few times.

Oh man you were there in a busy weekend, I kind of forgot. We were the only ones there at the time so it was great.
