Nice plant and cool story! I agree with Suri that it's probably not dearei, the few I've seen always have that very folded-over shape like shown (beautiful dearei, BTW!). lobbii seems most likely, but the auriculatum Suri posted could be another possibility. The 'lobbii complex' is more than a little confusing right now since many of the somewhat distinct types like sumatranum, claptonense, and polystictum are currently lumped into lobbii (despite geographic distinctions, different fragrances, etc. that would suggest some degree of reproductive isolation), while other about-as-distinct taxa like auriculatum are still legit species in their own right. Hopefully someone will take on the molecular study of this group soon but I'm not holding my breath...
