Intergeneric hybridization (crossing two plants from different genera) still needs to be between closely related genera. In the case of your brassia, you'd need to stick with other Oncidium alliance plants (Oncidiinae - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) such as miltonia, oncidium, odontoglossum, or other oncidium intergeneric hybrids.

Bulbophyllums are a completely different, and unrelated alliance. Same with phalaenopsis, cattleyas, and paphiopedilums. They're just too genetically different to hybridize with a brassia.
