i would think it is mechanical damage, or from improper watering....maybe the water was left on the leaf in a sunny place and burned the leaf....when you buy from the box stores they beat the heck out of those plants....I don't think its anything to worry about, but keep it isolated and watch it for a bit regardless...good luck!
