As has been mentioned, just don't let it stay done dry too long, especially when the plant is in active growth as it needs lots of water as anything that grows.
You could mist the exposed roots in between waterings. At least that's what I do with my phals and anything that have roots dancing around up in the air.

yea it is pretty big compared to the photos i see online. I want to repot it though in a fresh fir bark. i mist the roots from time to time too.
