Nice looking spike! Hope this helps regarding culture. Different combinations of things work in different conditions so you will see a lot of conflicting care instructions. I can tell you what has worked for me. I've had this one for about a year now and it is sending out a spike to rebloom. I grow it in a window with other orchids, including phals that rebloom. The humidity mostly stays above 50 and the temp drops about 5 to 15 degrees from day to night as we try to avoid air conditioning and heating. Lowest temp in window in winter is 60F and highest about 82F in summer. When I last checked, the light levels, they were in the 500 to 1500 foot candle range.
Mine came mounted on tree fern which might hold more moisture than what you have. I water it once a day. It is completely dry by the next morning even though there is some moss on the mount. Here's a link to an old photo of it after watering.

I noticed you live in SF and we both get water from Hetch Hetchy which works well for orchids.
