I recently got one of these as well & your leaves look about the same as mine. As it's also my 1st I am no expert, so... You sure that's not a big'ole root coming off that bad boy? Don't get me wrong, I'm with you in hoping it's not, would be great to get flowers & ID it for certain. Keep us posted & good growing.
