I've always been very private about where I live... that's why all I say is Midlands UK, or more recently I've made that more accurate by saying West Midlands.
I don't think anyone should be worried about giving the region or county, or state or whatever is appropriate to understand their growing conditions. I'm a very private person (very shy in real life as well) and have a tendency not to share much.
I thought about this when I joined but decided that sharing the rough area I live in is important to what we are discussing here and doesn't really represent a privacy problem.
