I am impressed that you were able to figure out how to grow these orchids in your zone. I know about your elevation and arid atmospheric humidity, but then again, even for my living in a Manhattan apartment nobody could understand how I can grow orchids, much less re-bloom them at all!
I cant wait to see your blooms.
Sedirea japonica orchids= any variation are fragrant.... they are strongest early in the morning but by noon you have to really put it close to your nose to capture a whiff....maybe on the next blooming cycle of your minmaru the fragrance will be evident....

Oh I've long since given up keeping orchids in my environment. I still grow some outside during the summer but mostly because those few are not especially warm-loving and/or grow well in sh and enjoy the frequent watering they get when in my garden. My sedirea live inside my orchid enclosure, which is in my basement, which is pumped full of awesome humidity and kept regulated re temp by space heater than keeps the air from falling below 65F. In fact, I even have some of the enclosure on auto water! lol I have several nozzles aimed at all of my air loving plants, like vandas and tolumnia, which get their roots soaked every day by the timer. My "setup" has grown over the years and I can confidently leave my collection for a week + without worrying at all about the plants. The only plants I have to concern myself with are my neos and sedirea, which are plants on moss mounds. If they're actively growing, I couldn't make it a week right now, but in dormancy, they get through it fine.
So I'm not terribly old (early 30s), but I'm convinced my nose is on its way out in terms of detecting scents! LOL
with that said, Bud... you need a Chabo. cutest orchid ever.
