My conditions are far from ideal, especially in summer. Much hotter and drier than they would like. So they are not perfect. But if you can make a little micro climate with better conditions then it helps. That's what I have done. Growing in a home or basement should be pretty good, but I have mine out in a greenhouse which is quite extreme in summer! They are called cool growers. But that's not so true as they just don't tolerate heat real well. They don't need or want real cool or cold temps.
