Did someone say mounted, here are a few pictures of mine, purchased from Andy's Orchids last year,it is mounted on what I think is a piece of grape vine .It has many new roots and a one new growth but no spikes.I have had it for about a year and I keep it in my orchidarium about 4" from a T5 light.
This is not my project plant.Myproject plant has not done anything, but it looks like it has a new root starting and NO! I'm not going to say the "N" WORD
The blue tray is left over from a Bonsi pot, I used it just to give the mount a little support for the picture.

I've got one mounted too. . .but that one hasn't bloomed for me. Not sure what the problem is. It might have needed a winter to set blooms, or some such.

Your roots look awesome! When they look like that, I think they're super happy and flourishingl. I LOVE that silvery, sort of translucent quality they get and the gorgeous pinkish red tip.

I've noticed that when these spike it emerges out of the third growth down. . .between the leaves. Anything lower is usually a new root.

But I have to say, I've missed a few spikes, there at the first, when I thought they were new leaf growth. lol
