Bulbophyllum Mastersianum dried/rotting roots? Male
Default Bulbophyllum Mastersianum dried/rotting roots?

Hi,

I ordered a bulbophyllum online a while ago, it took a fairly long time to arrive and when it did, it's roots were completely dry (although the bulbs only seemed slightly shriveled). I potted it in pure sphagnum moss, however the pot was too large for it and I got my hands on another small pot.

When I went to pot it this time around, I noticed the roots looked very unhappy. For lack of technical terminology, they were almost all sliding off of the 'thread' that runs through each root. I imagined that this could be some kind of rot? Although since it needs to stay moist, I don't know what to do?

I put him in a little pot with sphagnum and a few woodchips to hopefully assist in draining. Is this savable?
