I am pleased that I found this board. I have been growing orchids for a number of years and have a collection of between 300-400 plants. Most are mounted, some are grown bareroot on wires, some are in coir baskets with moss or wood slat baskets. I try to make everything look as natural as possible. My favorites are Vandaceous and Bulbos/cirrhos. I collect strictly on what the plant looks like and how much I like it, not how rare it is. Its my theory that a $10 orchid grows as well as a $50 one if given the correct care. My collection is housed in a greenhouse with a large collection of other tropical plants. I have over 1500 different plants. I am very into palms at the moment. I love plants, what can I say??
My other hobbies are drawing tattoo flash, getting tattooed, and listening to my favorite music: heavy metal.
(Yes, I play it for my plants, too, and they love it). I recognize a few names on this board from elsewhere, I am certain that in time they will recognize me as well. I am not shy about offering my opinions, but I am also always ready to learn from people with more experience and knowledge than me. I tend to be a jokester, I hope that doesn't turn anyone off.
