Thanks, it was a nerve racking "worth the wait" LOL One day I'll set up my video camera to do a shot of the opening process!!! I love watching those, they're so magical!

Nice photo sequence. The good thing is they last and there are many more coming behind it. They should overlap now.

Thanks John, but are you serious? They'll over lap with blooms at the same time? This is the third flower I have had off of this spike, the last one I made a mistake. I later read that the flower cannot get wet at all... well lets just say the last one fell off a week after blooming. I was also told about another path of mine that since it is a plain leafed paph that it should be in brighter light than a varigated one, would that be true for this one as well? Perhaps that's why the bloom took so long, because it's in a lower light area. There is also 2-3 "pups," I call them as what we call baby bananas, any anyone correct me on this terminology for orchids? I'll post pics of them later.
My mother bought this for me back in May while visiting, I really hope it does last until the end of this month so she can see it in bloom again! I painted onto the basked "mom's plant" as she said I'm to take care of it for her!

That's really cool how we can 'watch' the flower open. I admire you for being so patient!!

This is a great post. I love the way you captured the evolution of the bloom opening day by day. It's GORGEOUS.
