Lightbulb Vanda Experiment with S/H... Sort of

And so, about six or so months ago I bought two Vandas... Vanda...Vandii? on the sale rack at my local grocery store. Frankly, didn't think I could successfully raise one, but they were $5 each, and I really wanted the great tall plastic vases they were in for a terrarium project.

At that price, I figured what the heck. I did attempt to keep them as it indicated (pouring water in vase, letting sit, then draining). One succumbed to rot, likely because I forgot them overnight more than once and didn't drain. The other suffered many more indignities until I just hung it under a mister in basement in a winter grow space.

To my amazement, I haven’t killed it, and it keeps putting out new leaves. (on set five now). Gonna attempt something. I have an old jar with a nickel-sized hole in its side with placement about where two S/H holes would normally be. I left the polished glass in it, and am going to put in a south window. Think it’ll survive/bloom? It’s a tough one.

Vanda Experiment with S/H... Sort of Male
Default

Overnight soaks shouldn't kill Vandas, no matter how often. There was something else going on.

I tried a Neo hybrid fan in S/H. It was going well until it was eaten by a rodent.
