Dry environment, mist top/exposed roots?
I'm just trying my hand at S/H. My orchids are in air conditioned air 99% of the time (unless the windows are open which will be rare until Nov or maybe Oct) so the air is quite dry. The area at the top of the LECA should be more humid because of the evaporation. Should I mist the exposed roots (say, for a Phal) if they are silvery or just leave them alone? If it's one of those "either way, you're probably fine" kind of things, then there shouldn't be a problem for me to mist them, right? I just do a couple of quick spritzs to hydrate them so the silver starts to turn green. Some of the older roots turn green with the first spritz, but some of the newer roots need 2 or 3.
