Gramms in Leca

Hello there...
Hope I posted on the right forum. We'll I'm planning to move my gramm scriptum in an ordinary pot with Leca. Its not s/h. But I plan to use an external reservoir once the roots are established on the medium.

Has anyone experienced trying this?

Also...A local nursery gave me some slow release fertilizer. It looks similar to osmocote...can I use it in my s/h orchids?
