What else to grow in SH?

Are there any other houseplants one can grow in SH? I have a lot of PA left over from a big order years ago and I'd like to put it to good use if possible.

Succulents, like aloe do well. Not sure about cacti specifically. I've read that African violets take to it.

Terrestrial houseplants do VERY well in S/H culture. They take to it much easier than do orchids. Dracaenas, aglaomenas, spathyphyllums, you name it.

Aloe?? I thought their roots needed only minimal moisture. The one on my porch tends to not do well if the pot doesn't spend some time being dry between watering.

I have concluded that anything CAN be grown in S/H, but that does not mean that everyone has the right combination of conditions necessary to grow everything.

I have a customer who wins awards with her cacti and succulents grown that way...

I just put a Haworthia attenuata aka Zebra succulent in a weird set up. I put it in a Clay pot with the Hydroton. I set the pot in water and it is doing well. The old growth died off a bit. I was scared it was not going to make it. I pulled it up and found new roots. SO I put it back in. I have lots of new growth. It was an experiment that is going well so far.

I think I will put my Peace lily in semi hydro I think it might do best in full hydroponics since it loves water so much.

I think lots of plants would enjoy S/H.

I actually have an Avocado seedling in S/H doing great! She's currently putting out new leaves and her roots are growing crazy! lol

Oh snowflake, please let us know if you do and how it does! I have several Peace Lilies, including a baby.

Yes, they do need to be watered frequently, so I'm thinking S/H would be perfect for them!

I planted an Agloaenama (oh god can't spell that) and it didn't even notice!! haha it's been a few weeks and it's just kept growing like nothing ever happened. Now I'm looking at my orchids saying "see, that's how it's done y'all, keep your roots and keep growing!"

DO you think Jewel orchids would take to S/H well?

I would like to try ferns, like bird nest fern or Phlebodium aureum. Do you think it would work?
